Suede used in the Venturi model, one of VEJA's different silhouettes, is produced from the underside of pre-brushed cowhide coming from farms in the south of Brazil to make it softer and more flexible. Tanned in Brazil without the use of hazardous or banned chemicals. VEJA uses conventional paints that comply with regulations. Special attention is paid to water use during the tanning process. Suede is also coated with water-repellent oils that do not contain PFCs (chemical compounds) to protect sneakers from light rain.
