Emre Ahmet Uçunoğlu, the new member of Good People of Vitruta, answered the questions we directed to him.
Welcome Emre Ahmet. Let us introduce you to those who follow Good People of Vitruta. Who is Emre Ahmet Uçunoğlu? How did it start, how does it continue?
I was born in Istanbul, I am 30 years old. I grew up in a family that traveled a lot for work. After completing my university and graduate education at Koç University and Boğaziçi University, I entered business life and took on various roles in the finance departments of global companies for about 9 years. During this period, I lived in Istanbul, London and Amsterdam. Traveling all the time is a great passion for me. Even though the pandemic has prevented this, I want to start my international travels again as soon as possible. One of my biggest hobbies is discovering and studying beer culture. I'm a real beer lover. At one point, I even started sharing posts on my Instagram account called @teddybeer_eu, but it was not an effort I could sustain. I hope I can focus on it in the future, because I enjoy sharing my experiences.
Is there a TV series you're watching these days?
I mostly watch mini-documentary series or TV series with 20-minute episodes to relieve the stress of the day. I watch Brooklyn 99 and Modern Family. I can count The Serpent and Behind Her Eyes among the mini series I watched.
Is there a podcast you follow regularly?
I mostly listen to podcasts about sports. But I can count Salon Spor by Nihan Cabbaroğlu and Buğra Balaban as among my close friends. I would also definitely recommend the We Do It For Ourselves podcast, which Nihan continues with her friends.
What books are you reading right now?
I read Paulo Coelho's Pilgrimage and it is a book I can recommend. Currently, I am reading Zorba, one of the cult books written by Nikos Kazantzakis in the 1940s, with great pleasure.
We are also very curious about your favorite restaurants in Istanbul.
I love spending time in Topağacı. My favorite place is Efendi; A place where you can greet a few tables every time I visit always creates a special bond. Among the restaurants, I was very impressed by Alaf 2 Tek, which I discovered recently. Besides these, I can also count Mürver and Aheste among my favorite restaurants.
Finally, can we learn your favorite 5 brands in Vitruta?
